Barré, “Outres” 3-4
2011, the year of the museum's fiftieth anniversary, was the ideal opportunity to invite an artist to examine the ties between sculpture and architecture. These cast-iron spindles, skimming the water and casting subtle reflections, create a discreet presence in this transition space (between the exterior and interior of the museum), and a new link that tells the public heading down the walkway they are entering the museum space. The pair performs the same function in this location as The Signal by Henri Georges Adam, like a subtle echo of the larger sculpture.
